Are you tired?  Does this day find you worn down before you even begin?

Let the Truth of His Word “revive” you.

This morning I woke early. I found myself eager for a fresh start.  Yesterday is over – thank goodness!  Among my first thoughts – will today be different?  Will I keep my cool no matter how demanding my two year old is?  Will I be gentle even when frustrations rise? Will I look to Him when my tasks pile up? Will I press in close to My Savior and find “Joy” in the midst of this ordinary day?  Oh, how I hope so.

I open the pages of my Bible.  Let my day begin.

Psalm 19:7-9

(New Living Translation)

The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.  The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.  Reverence for the Lord is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the Lord are true; each one is fair.

 (The Voice)

The Eternal’s law is perfect, turning lives around.  His words are reliable and true, instilling wisdom to open minds.  The Eternal’s directions are correct, giving satisfaction to the heart.  God’s commandments are clear, lending clarity to the eyes.   The awe of the Eternal is clean, sustaining for all of eternity.  The Eternal’s decisions are sound; they are right through and through.

 (New King James Version)

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

As I read these verses, my direction is clear.  I need to “read” (and be reminded) of His Ways.  I need to “choose” to seek His Counsel each morning.  I need to “trust” His perfect wisdom above my momentary emotions.  I need to “listen” to and become familiar with His Words.

His Word is “perfect.” His instructions are “trustworthy, reliable, sure.”  His commandments are “right, pure, clear.”

His Words will “REVIVE and CONVERT” my soul when I am exhausted.  They will “TURN” my life around when things seem overwhelming.  His Truth will instill “WISDOM” and give “CLARITY” when I don’t know what to do.  His Ways will bring “JOY and SATISFACTION” to my heart when I am irritable.

As I begin this new day I am reminded that the answers my heart longs for are always within my reach.  They lay before me on the pages of my Bible.  I only need to crack open the pages and read with an open heart and willing soul.  And, He will do the rest.

In Him, I can be refreshed.

Heavenly Father,

Thank you, Lord, that Your Wisdom is always available to me. Let my heart be set to seek You.  Let my soul be “revived” in the midst of the chaos of this day.  Bring Your Truth to mind when I am weary or weak or confused.  Let Your Words flood over me and bring me peace.

In Your Faithful Name, AMEN!
