“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.” – Psalm 91:14

Trusting, following, and protection all go hand in hand.  We will not follow is we do not trust.  We will not gain protection if we do not follow.  The Lord is willing and able to provide daily, moment-by-moment protection to us.  Our part is trusting and following.  It is vital to trust in the small things as well as the big things.  The small things unattended almost always turn into big things.  If we learn to trust God in all things, following Him will naturally follow.  Submitting to God’s lead provides the protection of His care. When we choose to honor God and follow His lead we can rest in the protection of His care.

Thought for today:

Psalm 112 says, “Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in His commands…their hearts are secure…they will have no fear…” (NIV) How can resting in God’s protection affect your heart?  What area of your marriage do you need to let go of in order to place it under the protection of God?

Prayer for you:

Father God, I lift up this loving wife and ask that You would allow her to completely trust in You – in the little things and in the big things.  Let her heart be secure in the promise of Your protection. Give her the courage and faith to lay all that she is and all that she has at the foot of Your Throne. Help her to listen to Your voice and trust what You say. Guide her by the truth of Your Word. Amen.
