*If you are joining us new today, please take a moment to watch this video. It will help you understand the heart behind our Summer Bible Challenge. We would love for you to join in with us as we fellowship over the Word.
Today’s reading brings me not only my word but to a change in the posture of my heart. Current events – personal and global- can leave us feeling a bit down. But, as a woman of faith, I need to take time to truly think on the true character of God. That is the purpose of this study. I want to get my eyes off the world and fix them on my God. I want to think less about what is wrong in my life and more about what is right with my God.
2 Chronicles 5:13-14in the NLT reads:
The trumpeters and singers performed together in unison to praise and give thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments, they raised their voices and praised the Lord with these words:
“He is good!
His faithful love endures forever!”
At that moment a thick cloud filled the Temple of the Lord. 14 The priests could not continue their service because of the cloud, for the glorious presence of the Lord filled the Temple of God.
God is GOOD! And, you and I should be giving thanks and praising Him each day. I love this passage and how it progresses. It reminds me of our time together so far in this challenge. We are coming together daily to PRAISE HIM! As we praise Him, I know He will be amongst us – in our midst, in our homes, in our families, in our everything. Let’s offer Him praise today, for He is GOOD!
His is Good – (My word search of God is good, brought me these verses today.)
His favor is for a lifetime. (Psalm 30:5)
He is love. (1 John 4:18)
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above (James 1:17)
And we know that God causes everything to work together[a] for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. (Romans 8:28)
Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! (Psalm 34:8)
We have to set our hearts to praise. When we praise Him, He is there. And, when He is there, we can endure and thrive and succeed far more than we ever can alone. He is good. He is good to me. He desires good for me. He leads me into goodness. He is the author of all that is love and pure and good. And, when I stop to praise Him, that goodness fills me heart and my life. Look up today, soak in the goodness of the Father.
My prayer for us today –
Father, help our hearts to truly understand the goodness that runs through everything You touch. Prompt us into praise as we begin to focus on how good you are to us. Fill our hearts and our homes with Your presence as we praise You today. In Your Precious Name, AMEN!
