*If you are joining us new today, please take a moment to watch this video. It will help you understand the heart behind our Summer Bible Challenge. We would love for you to join in with us as we fellowship over the Word.

Don’t you just love it when you check into a hotel and they offer to upgrade you to a room with a view? Suddenly, everything seems better. Your excitement grows and your trip is off to a great start. What if you and I learned to adjust our view each day? What if we took our view and exchanged it for the Lord’s view?

1 Corinthians 6:20 says –

(NKJV) For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

(TLB) For God has bought you with a great price. So use every part of your body to give glory back to God because he owns it.

(The Voice) You have been purchased at a great price, so use your body to bring glory to God!

“For you were bought at a price.” – Bought here means more than just the payment. The root of this word conveys that the purchaser will acquire possession. It speaks of a transfer of ownership. The price was paid at the Cross. The transfer was for every believer to come into the possession of Christ. We no longer belong to this world. Our words, our deeds, our lives are meant to be His.

“So use every part of your body to give glory back to God because he owns it.” “Glorify” means to honor, praise, bring glory to his true character. The high price Christ paid should motivate me to give back to Him. His sacrifice should lead me to want to bring honor to Him by the way I live. The Cross means everything; My life should reflect that.

The price of my faith speaks loud and clear to me this morning. The price of my faith is the Cross. Christ died for me and for you. As much as I try, this is almost too much for me to take in. To truly understand that He willing walked to the Cross and gave His life for me is a love deeper than anything I’ve ever known. This morning I’m moved to consider the way I look at things. Is my point of view affected by the price of the Cross?

My God Is… Unfathomable.

This kind of love should motivate me to look at things differently. This kind of love should move me to live inspired by His mercy and grace. If I live with my eyes on the Cross, it will bring glory to Him.

Consider what your life would look like if you looked at every moment through the filter of the cross? What would change if we let the Cross influence each part of our day?

Would I get upset at unkind words if the reality of the Cross was fresh in my mind?

Would I be discouraged when I lost my job if the truth of the Cross was written on my heart?

Would I be impatient with my kids if the weight of the Cross was the focus of my mind?

Would I speak more gently if the significance of the Cross was settled in my soul?

Would I trust when things seem out of control if the price of the Cross was directing my thoughts?

Would I live differently if I filtered every decision, every word, every step through the filter of the price of the Cross?

You and I were bought at high cost. I want to spend my life living in a way that tries to understand the greatness of this gift. It is unfathomable – but, I want to live in appreciation of the great cost.

I want everything I do be led by the unfailing love displayed on the Cross.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for paying the price for me. Let me live and walk and talk in way that will bring glory to You. Help me to go about my day in such a way that the price You paid is at the front of my mind. Quiet me with the truth of the Cross. Direct my heart with the reality of Calvary. Let me live in light of the Cross and all that You gave.

In Your Gracious and Holy Name, AMEN!
